Padang (ANTARA) - The Padang City Government is preparing a complaint service for tourists visiting Padang to anticipate the practice of illegal levies at tourist sites.

"For residents who find the practice of illegal levies are expected to report to the number +62 811-7180-117," said Padang Mahyeldi Mayor in Padang on Thursday.

According to him the complaint service was made to bring comfort and security to visitors and nomads who were widowed in their hometowns.

Besides that, the city government is also alerting personnel, supporting facilities and preparation of other needs, both in ketupat operations, service of security posts in the sub-district, security of tourism objects, alertness to disasters, he said.

He added that enlivening the Idul Fitri Eid holiday this year, the Padang City Government held the Chicken Bakcang and Lamang Baluo Festival which will be held along the Batang Arau area on June 6-7 2019.

Meanwhile, Head of Padang Tourism Office Didi Aryadi conveyed that his party lowered and alerted 1,000 personnel at tourist sites, trade and culinary centers.

He detailed the 1,000 personnel consisting of 350 Civil Service Police Officers, 40 Transportation Service Offices, BPBD and 50 Disaster Preparedness Groups, 10 Social Service Disaster Preparedness cadets, 55 Tourism Office staffs and supported by 40 coastal supervisors under the coordination of the Tourism Office.

Furthermore, the Fire Department of 30 personnel, the Environmental Service Cleaning Officer 120 people, two units of heavy equipment and five personnel from the Public Works Agency and 40 Scouting personnel and 250 personnel from a combination of several sub-districts, service and volunteer Tourism Awareness Groups, Indonesian Red Cross and Regional Device Leaders.

" To anticipate the extortion and process legal extortion, Tourism Office will give compensation to extortion victim at tourist attraction who want to make report to police," he said.
