Painan (ANTARA) - The Government of Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra, prepared two ships to transport waste from the islands in the Mandeh Integrated Marine Tourism Zone and Carocok Painan Beach during the 2019 Eid holiday.
"Two ships were prepared to ensure that the islands in Pesisir Selatan , especially those that are the favorite locations of tourists, are in Mandeh and the Carocok Painan Beach is clean of rubbish," said Head of Cleaning Spatial Planning, Public Works Agency of Pesisir Selatan , Elman in Painan,on Friday.
He said that throughout the day the two ships would rotate around the islands while taking out the garbage in both locations.
"Cleaners are also placed on the islands, and also trash cans are placed next, so that the atmosphere becomes more orderly and the removal of garbage from the bin to the ships is easier to do," he said.
He also employs 188 janitors, some of them are assigned to islands in two locations and also in places that are always crowded with tourists such as the "rest area" of the border area with the Padang city, Jembatan Akar tourist attraction and others.
"We believe with careful preparation, tourists or the people of Pesisir Selatan will be free from waste during Eid 2019," he said.
While in other locations which are also predicted to be visited by tourists, such as the tourist attraction of Tan Sridano Beach, Pasir Putih Kambang, Sumedang Beach, and Sambungo Beach in Silaut District so that the managers empower local people to maintain cleanliness.
In addition, to facilitate the collection of garbage, he also encouraged the preparation of trash cans at the site.
"Anyone will definitely be uncomfortable with garbage scattered especially at tourist sites, because obviously tourists come to tourist sites to look for entertainment. So in tourism objects, especially those far from the district capital, we encourage efforts to empower the surrounding community to maintain cleanliness, "he said again. (*)
