Pariaman (ANTARA) - The Pariaman City Government, West Sumatra promotes tourism potential in the area to the Asia-Pacific level through the 33rd TOP Executive Committee Meeting held on Wednesday, May 29, in Jakarta.
"Pariaman is a new member of the Asia Pacific Tourism Promotion Organization," said Mayor of Pariaman, Genius Umar in Pariaman, on Thursday.
He said the purpose of the regional participation in the committee was to promote tourism and local wisdom in Pariaman city to the global tourism market.
Therefore, he continued in front of a number of members of the Asia Pacific countries who were members of the tourism promotion organization Genius presented the tourism potential of Pariaman city and also its supporting aspects.
He hopes that through this promotion, the City of Pariaman can become a world tourist destination, especially in the Asia Pacific region.
" Tourism in Pariaman is increasingly recognized and the number of tourist visits has increased," he said.
He said that with the increase in the number of visits, it could improve the economic level of the people of Pariaman City.
But he asked the people in the area to also prepare themselves in terms of English language skills and the quality of service to tourists.
At present Pariaman city has a number of excellent marine tourism objects, starting from Pulau Angso Duo, Pulau Tangah and Pulau Kasiak , to Pulau Gandoriah, Pulau Cermin , and Pulau Kata .
Not only that, the area also has a cultural tourism object, that is Tabuik which can attract thousands of tourists to the area.
