Padang Pariaman (ANTARA) - District, W. Sumatra fixed Sheikh Burhanuddin's tomb heritage area with funds of Rp120 billion obtained from the center funds which aims to support the location as a religious tourist spot in the province.

"This is a continuation of the construction of the mosque and Sheikh Burhanuddin's tomb, including four other points from 12 points to be worked on," said Deputy Regent of Padang Pariaman Suhatri Bur at Parit Malintang on Saturday.

He said that the development carried out at four points are to continue the construction of musholla, fences, tomb, and relocation of culinary locations until finally settlements, nagari guardian offices, and elementary schools.

For this reason, he continued, the central government requested that the administration related to the settlement be completed before Eid so that later it could enter the tender period.

"Until now we have coordinated with stakeholders at Sheikh Burhanuddin's tomb and they support," he said.

He mentioned that only three more points had to be negotiated and he hoped the process could be completed.

He said that the master plan for the development of Sheikh Burhanuddin's burial area was completed in 2016 and is expected to increase tourist visits to the area.

"What is important now is how we finish the administration first," he said.

Previously the West Sumatra Tourism Office would make the "Basapa" tradition commonly carried out by Syatariah worshipers in Syekh Burhanuddin's tomb area by making religious tourism events.

The Head of Convention Promotion Section, Hisentif Event and Special Interest of W. Sumatra Tourism Office, Riza Chandra, said that

had been reviewing several regions and 'Basapa' had the potential to be used as religious tourism.

"The fall of the choice in" Basapa "is because the tradition has potential that does not exist in other regions, so effort is needed so that this potential can be utilized to the maximum," he said. Editor: Mutiara Ramadhani
