Painan (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Education and Culture will build a museum in Pesisir Selatan District, W. Sumatra, through special allocation fund, said the local Regent Hendrajoni.

"In this week we will submit museum development proposals to relevant officials in Jakarta," he said in Painan on Tuesday.

He added that the submission of the proposal was a further step after he established communication regarding the plan with central officials.

"Everything is okay, the surrender is only a complement, the last thing I have discussed with the central official is about preparing the land as the location for the construction of the museum and it can be fulfilled," he said.

He mentioned the location of the construction of the museum is located in Salido, District IV Jurai, in addition to being close to the capital city of the district also adjacent to Carocok Painan Beach which is the mainstay of the local attractions.

After the museum was inaugurated, he hoped the existence of the museum could be an alternative vacation for tourists on vacation in Pesisir Selatan.

He also said "The museum will be a special attraction for tourists because there will be interesting collections there," .

It cannot be separated from the two great kingdoms that once existed in the local area namely Indrapura and Mandeh Rubiah.

It believes that until now heirlooms and other valuable objects inherited from the two kingdoms are still kept by royal descendants.

Next in Lengayang Subdistrict there is also a money printing factory known as "Oeang Lengayang" or pitih kambang which existed around December 1948 and the remaining remains will also be displayed in the museum.
