West Sumatra arts / culture events during Ramadhan will be packaged in Pesona Ramadhan  of  West Sumatra

Padang (ANTARA) - West Sumatra Provincial Government will inventory a number of arts and cultural events held during Ramadhan in various districts / cities to be combined in onebrandingnamely Pesona Ramadhan of W. Sumatra.

"Districts and cities have many events during Ramadhan. We will communicate so that everything can be combined inbrandingPesona Ramadhan of W. Sumatra, "said Head of W. Sumatra Tourism Office Oni Yulfian in Padang on Wednesday.

During this time the implementation and promotion of cultural arts events during Ramadhan seemed localistic, even though if echoed bigger and packaged again it could become one of the potential cultural attractions of interest.

Events such as torch parades, music festivals and other similar activities have their own charm and potentially attract tourists.

Oni said, if the districts and cities agree, Pesona Ramadhan of W. Sumatra this year can be held from 12 to 28 May 2019, including the activities of the West Sumatra Tourism Office in collaboration with Indonesian Charms Generation (GenPI) from 24 to 26 May 2019.

The activities carried out by the West Sumatra Tourism Office to enliven Ramadhan include Da'i Kids, calligraphy coloring competitions, Ramadhan special culinary festivals, Qasidah competitions, Muslim fashion competitions, casual chat about halal tourism, and other Islamic activities.

"We will separate the location later, because there will be a selection of participants for various competitions, so that the location of the activities not only in Masjid Raya of W. Sumatra," he said.

He hopes that this religious nuance as a venue to enliven the month of Ramadhan will continue from year to year so that it becomes one of the tourism agenda that can attract tourists.

The target of tourist visits to the province in 2019 according to the Medium Term Development Plan (RPJM) is 57,087 people for foreign tourists and 8,476,724 archipelago tourists.
