Basic Commodities Prices in Agam Began To Decrease After Eid

Lubukbasung, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The price of basic commodities in some traditional markets of Agam District, West Sumatra began to decrease between Rp1,000 to Rp8,000 per kilogram after Eid 1439 Hijriah.

Head of Trade Division of Agam Industry Trade Cooperative Small and Medium Business Office, Nelfia Fauzana in here on Friday said that the price of basic necessities that decreased such as benang pulau rice from Rp12 thousand to Rp11 thousand per kilogram, Ir 42 rice from Rp11 thousand to Rp10,500 per kilogram, batang Pasaman rice from Rp10 thousand to Rp9,500 per kilogram.

Sugar from Rp12 thousand to Rp11 thousand per kilogram, cayenne pepper from Rp35 thousand to Rp30 thousand per kilogram, onion from Rp38 thousand to Rp25 thousand per kilogram, cabbage from Rp5 thousand to Rp4 thousand per kilogram and tomatoes from Rp7 thousand to Rp6 thousand per kilogram.

"This is based on the information that we get from traders in traditional markets of the region," he said.

According to him, the decline in basic necessities price occurs due to the decrease of demand begins to decrease after Eid while the supply is quite a lot from collecting merchants.

Besides, a number of basic commodities are also available such as bimoli oil of regular bottles of Rp15 thousand per liter, regular bimoli oil packaging Rp14 thousand per liter, bulk cooking oil Rp11 thousand per liter.

Then the price of chicken eggs Rp2,600 per egg, chicken eggs Rp1,600 per egg, duck eggs Rp3 thousand per egg and curly pepper Rp25 thousand per kilogram.

Other prices are garlic Rp25 thousand per kilogram, tilapia Rp30 thousand per kilogram, tuna fish Rp15 thousand per kilogram, tuna fish Rp36 thousand per kilogram and others. (cha)
