Padang Pariaman, (Antaranews Sumbar) - A total of 29,947 travelers are departed from Minangkabau International Airport in Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra from D+1 to D+4 of Eid al-Fitr 1439 Hijriah or June 17 to 20, 2018.

"The number has increased compared to the same period of 2017 which only dispatched 24,391 travelers," Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura II Minangkabau International Airport Fendrick Sondra stated here on Thursday.

He estimates that the reverse flow at Minangkabau International Airport will still take place even though Lebaran holiday has ended and will peak on June 23, 2018.

While on D+4 the number of travelers who departed reached 8,416 people who transported by 44 flights.

In contrast, the homecoming flow at Minangkabau International Airport is still happening on D+4 because the arrival rate is quite high.

The number of homecoming arrivals on D+4 reached 8,039 travelers or increased compared to last year which only 7,525 travelers.

According to him, the flow of going home is still going on because many travelers choose to depart a few days after Lebaran day.

PT Angkasa Pura II estimated that passenger movement at the airport in Lebaran this year will increase by 12 to 20 percent while the movement of aircraft is around 5 to 10 percent.

There are about 864 movements for aircraft and about 152 thousand people for passengers ranging from D-7 to D+7, he said.

Minangkabau International Airport currently has a runway length of 2,750 meters and it can be landed by wide bodied aircraft.

"For apron capacity, it can accommodate eight parking aircraft at the same time," he added. (cha)
