"A total of 8,960 travelers arrived in West Sumatra by using 46 flights," Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura II BIM Fendrick Sondra stated in here on Wednesday.
He said the arrival of travelers in D-3 increased 1.24 percent compared to the same period of 2017 which amounted to 8,682 travelers
In contrast, the number of passengers departing from Padang to Jakarta reached 4,901 people.
He said that passenger movement in BIM is estimated to increase by about 12 to 20 percent while the movement of aircraft is around five to 10 percent this year.
Besides, there are about 864 movements and passengers about 152 thousand people ranging from D-7 to D+7, he said.
Associated with the anticipation of plane delay resulting in the buildup, he said it already has a fixed procedure of handling it.
"When viewed from the flight schedule, flight delays are no more than five aircraft in the same hour, but we try to get a maximum of three planes", he said.
Meanwhile, personnel are ready to anticipate by adding seats for passengers to do not sit on the floor if there is delay. (cha)
