Number of Travelers Arrival at BIM Began to Increase

Padang Pariaman, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Entering D-8 of Eid al-Fitr 1439 Hijriah or on July 7, 2018 the number of travelers who arrived at Minangkabau International Airport (BIM) in Padang Pariaman began to increase compared to normal days.

"On D-8, the number of homecoming arrivals reached 6,359 people or an increase of eight percent compared to the same period last year which recorded only 5,696 people," Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura II Minangkabau International Airport Fendrick Sondra stated in here on Friday.

According to him, travelers are transported by 37 flights or up eight percent compared to last year's which only 35 flights.

While for international flights it also increased with the number of passengers arriving reach 529 people or up to last year which only 317 people.

On the contrary, the number of passenger of aircraft with Padang-Jakarta route on D-8 reached 3,900 people or increased compared to last year which only 3,886 people which transported by 37 flights.

PT Angkasa Pura II estimates that the peak of passengers arriving at Minangkabau International Airport is expected to occur on D-3 or June 12, 2018.

"Based on last year's experience and statistical data, it is estimated to be on H-3, however, it is considering that it the holiday has started on June 11 so that there is a possibility that this weekend will also surge in the arrival of travelers," Airline Organizing Comitte of BIM Minangkabau Yudo P stated in here on Thursday (June 7).

As for the peak of reverse flow is expected to occur on June 19 to 20 and June 23 to 24 June, 2018.

Related to the facilities provided for prospective passengers, the airport adds the X Ray engine in order to avoid piling up passengers in addition to alerting personnel.

"From the side of the air, we are ready to start from equipment to support systems," he added. (cha)
