BI Provides Rp4.1 Billion New Money to Fulfill Money Changers Needs Ahead of Eid

Bukittinggi, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Bank Indonesia Representative Office of West Sumatra provides Rp4.1 billion new money to fulfill the needs of money changers for people in Bukittinggi Municipality to welcome Eid al-Fitr 1439 Hijriah.

Rupiah Currency Manager Unit in BI Representative of West Sumatera, Ari Rozano in here on Saturday said the money exchange service is provided in Lapangan Kantin to avoid exchange by citizens in unofficial places.

"There is a habit of exchanging new money in every Eid and we avoid people to do not exchange money to roadside providers because there is risk of money sheets which does not in accordance with the exchanged money", he explained.

In exchanging money in Bukittinggi, it cooperates with five banking institutions in the city by using mobile cash cars.

The money provided is ranging from Rp2,000 to Rp20,000 and every citizen is limited to exchange the maximum of two bundles (pack) for each fraction and it servies one day only.

Besides, the exchange today is also held in Pariaman. Then on June 9, 2018 it is held in Solok Municipality and Payakumbuh. (cha)
