Telkomsel Seeks To Stabilize Data Services at Tourism Sites

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Telkomsel seeks to stabilize data services at tourism sites in West Sumatra which is usually crowded during Lebaran (Eid al-Fitr) holidays.

"People often take advantage of Eid holidays by visiting tourist attractions, until there is a spike in data traffic because of the crowds," Telkomsel President Director Ririek Adriansyah stated after inaugurating Telkomsel Smart Office in here on Thursday.

One of the efforts is adding Base Transceiver Station (BTS) to fulfill the needs of data services.

The stability of data services at tourism sites is considered capable of increasing tourist satisfaction.

Some of tourism sites focused are Jam Gadang Bukittinggi, Carocok Beach South Pesisir, Gandoriah Beach Padangpariaman, Anai Valley Waterfall, Pagaruyuang Palace, Cindua Mato Field, Solok Municipality Park.

It is estimated that during the Ramadhan and Eid periods, the use of data traffic in West Sumatra increased 45 percent compared to normal day. In line with the national increase of 40 percent.

The high usage of data services is triggered by community activities that often upload photos, videos, or other activities on social media and instant messaging applications.

"Customers also use data services to access culinary information, lodging, and enjoy a variety of digital entertainment services such as video, music, and games," he explained.

In addition, Telkomsel also prioritizes three lanes homecoming route namely Padang-Rao, Padang-Sungai Rumbai, and Padang-Pekanbaru.

He said Telkomsel specifically built 12,000 Base Transceiver Station (BTS) multi-band Long Term Evolution (LTE) throughout Indonesia to deliver quality services and adequate capacity.

On the other hand, Telkomsel deploys service posts at 772 strategic points on the homecoming route and major tourism sites. (cha)
