Padang Prepares Several Main Tourist Destinations for Lebaran Holidays

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of Padang Municipality, West Sumatra prepares several spots to be the main tourist destinations during Lebaran (Eid al-Fitr) holiday 1439 Hijriah, including Integrated Tourism Area of Gunung Padang which stretches along the coastal city.

Head of Padang Tourism and Cultural Office, Medi Iswandi in here on Wednesday said that Integrated Tourism Area of Gunung Padang including the area of Siti Nurbaya Bridge and Muaro are predicted to be the center of the crowd in the upcoming Eid holidays.

In the vicinity of Gunung Padang since the end of last year has been installed a signboard that cost Rp6.3 billion. This is intended to attract visitors to adventure to the hills of Gunung Padang by climbing the hill through the stairs which are prepared to tiered.

Futher near to the area, it also offers a destination around the old town of Padang and Siti Nurbaya Park.

Besides, in general as the main destination of Padang, there are a total area of 550 hectares including Gunung Padang, Muaro Area, Air Manis Beach, Cimpago Beach and Muaro Lasak. They are predicted to be the center of tourist crowds during Lebaran holidays.

Medi explained that Cimpago Beach with the Indian Ocean Rims Association (IORA) and Cimpago Lakes Monument can be the place to enjoy the beach scenery. Besides, tourists can also take such picture around the flag of the participating countries of IORA held in 2015 in Padang.

In addition, there are games such as scooters, cars for children and culinary specialties in Padang beach.

Then, related to Cimpago Beach, Muaro Lasak Beach, they are predicted to be the center of the crowd precisely in front of Peace Monument. Last year, there are more than 10,000 tourists visit per day in both destinations during Eid holiday.

Other destinations on offer are Air Manis Beach which since last year has opened the path through Bukit Gado-Gado. In here, tourists are treated to ATV motorcycles around white sand beaches, see turtle breeding, Malin Kundang Stone and Pisang Island.

Since the renovation, the increase of visitors to Air Manis reaches 300 percent from Rp10 million per week to Rp40 million per week. It is predicted to increase in the upcoming Eid holidays and become a mainstay of Padang scooped up a lot of tourists this year. (cha)
