Thousands of W Sumatra Residents Follow Caring Act for Palestinians

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Thousands of West Sumatra residents are following a caring act for Palestinians on foot from Nurul Iman Grand Mosque, Padang to the Governor's Office on Sudirman Street on Sunday.

"The solidarity action for Palestinians is a form of concern for the people of West Sumatra over the planned transfer of US embassy to Jerusalem," Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Dai (Ikadi) of West Sumatra, Urwatul Wusqo stated in Padang.

In performing the walk followed by various parties, participants are wearing white clothing and carrying various attributes of Palestinian flags and banners that read Palestine defenses and save Al Quds.

Starting from 01.00 p.m. along the streets, coordinator of action invites all citizens to participate and expressed attitude on the planned transfer of US Embassy to Jerusalem.

Arriving at the yard of Governor of West Sumatra's Office, mass oration are displaying figures of West Sumatra.

In addition, fundraising as an aid to send directly to Palestine helps the cost of repairing the Palestinian cause.

The action was followed by National Committee for the People of Palestine, West Sumatra Ikadi, MUI of Padang, Council of Islamic Da'wah of West Sumatra, Muhammadiyah, Student Executive Board (BEM) and other mass organizations.

In his speech, Chairman of West Sumatra Ikadi Urwatul Wusqo conveyed that West Sumatra residents will continue to provide support to Palestinians until the land in Palestine is given to the Palestinians.

He conveyed that since 1962, the first President of Indonesia Soekarno has declared that he will not allow the Palestine until it becomes truly independent. (cha)
