South Pesisir is Feasible To Hold International Competition: PBVSI

Painan, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Volleyball Association of Indonesia (PBVSI) assesses that South Pesisir District, West Sumatra is feasible to hold an international beach volleyball competition, especially Southeast Asia, because it has held an open national beach volleyball circuit for the sixth time.

Chairman of Executive Board of PBVSI, I Made Sudarma stated the remarks during the opening ceremony of National Beach Volleyball Circuit Open Series II which was held at Mini Rangeh Gadang Stadium, South Pesisir District on Thursday.

Teams that follow the championship in South Pesisir is more in the numbers when compared with the implementation elsewhere.

PBVSI assessed that the organizing committee is serious in preparing the location of the championship starting from the field match, supporting facilities and infrastructure.

"We do not see any wild stalls. Then, the conditions here are quite orderly and comfortable. It proofs that South Pesisir is worthy to hold Southeast Asia Volleyball Championship," he explained.

Meanwhile, South Pesisir Regent, Hendrajoni said that his party already has planned to hold the Southeast Asia Beach Volleyball Championship. Besides, with the support of PBVSI, he believes it will be done.

Local government has prepared Kapo-Kapo Island in the area as the location of its implementation.

The appointment of Kapo-Kapo Island in addition to its beautiful islands, the distance is also far from the settlement so that the activity is not troubling.

"As good as the impact of an activity, the customs and cultures remain to be considered for the Southeast Asia Beach Volleyball Championship," he remarked.

National Beach Volleyball Circuit Open Series II is held on April 26 to 29, 2018 followed by 62 teams from nine provinces and eleven districts or cities in West Sumatra. (cha)
