Batusangkar, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of Tanah Datar District, West Sumatra targets the tourism sector to contribute Rp6.8 billion to local revenue in 2018 and Istano Pagaruyuang tourism object to be the biggest contributor as the previous year.
Head of Tourism, Youth and Sports Office of Tanah Datar, Edi Susanto in Batusangkar, Wednesday, said 99 percent of local revenue target is dominated by Istano Basa Pagaruyuang, because the attraction is always crowded by visitors from local and foreign.
According to him, the target of Rp6.8 billion can be fulfilled as it has happened in previous years, even until now the income has reached Rp1.5 billion.
Besides, several other destinations still provide income to Tanah Datar local renevue, but the amount is not as big as Istano Pagaruyuang.
In addition, it also continues to make improvements to several existing tourist destinations, such as Puncak Pato and Pariangan Tourism Village.
Meanwhile, Director of Community Nagari Tuo Pariangan, Irwan Malin Basa said that currently enthusiastic tourists who come to Tanah Datar or especially to Pariangan quite high, both from within and abroad.
He mentioned in addition to enjoy the scenery or natural charm, visitors also come to see the culture and local wisdom in the area. (cha)
