South Solok Society Grants 51 Minangkabau Traditional Houses To Be Revitalized

Padang Aro, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Commodity of Nagari (traditional village) of Koto Baru, South Solok District, West Sumatra grants 51 units of Minangkabau traditional house (Rumah Gadang) to local government to be revitalized to support the tourism of Thousand of Gadang Houses Area (Kawasan Saribu Rumah Gadang).

"Up to now, 51 letters of gadang houses have been issued and all within the most popular indigenous villages in Indonesia to be revitalized," Head of Tourism and Cultural Office of South Solok, Eko Espito stated in Padang Aro, Tuesday.

All Gadang Houses that have been granted by the community will be revitalized by the government.

The proposed residential house for restoration is located in the area of Cultural Heritage and it has been issued by Regent Degree since December 2017.

In addition, in welcoming of visitors to the tourist attraction which located in Nagari of Koto Baru, Sungai Pagu Sub-district, it has been handed over the Bureau of Nagari (BUMNag) which is now running.

"It has been established BUMNag in which accommodated by the tourism conscious group (Pokdarwis) and youth," he remarked.

To improve the service of local government, officials have trained the tour guide related to the way to accompany the guests who come.

He added that now, there are 17 South Solok tour guides which are also following the competence of West Sumatra Provincial Government. (cha)
