TNKS Aids Lumpo Waterfall Tourism Development in S Pesisir

Painan, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS) helps to develop Lumpo Waterfall object in IV Jurai Sub-district, South Pesisir District, West Sumatra by constructing the site's tread design.

Head of National Park Management Section (SPTN) of Kerinci Seblat Region III, Sahyudin in Painan, Tuesday, said TNKS participates in the development of tourist attraction because of its location within the reserve area.

He said that the design of the site of Lumpo Waterfall has been made and the documents have been submitted to local district officials.

In the design of 21.7 hectares site area, it can be used as a business space such as building parking locations, inns, offices and other infrastructure that support tourism sector.

Furthermore, the area of 719.6 hectares can be used as a public space or as a location for tourists to enjoy the beauty of nature.

In addition to build the site design, the future of TNKS will also build other supporting facilities and infrastructure so that the location can be one of the mainstays of tourist attractions in local area.

"The activity is a form of awareness of TNKS in maximizing the various potentials in the area, but the utilization has no impact on ecosystem at the site," he remarked.

Then through the concern, it is expected to increase economic community around the area so that they do not damage the forest like farming or cutting trees to fulfill the family needs.

In general, Lumpo Waterfall has a height of approximately 60 meters with a width of 10 meters. Visitors can bathe in the area because in the location there is a hole with an area of 20x30 meters and depth of one to 10 meters. (cha)
