Padang Provides Free Bus To Strengthen Tourism Sector

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The government of Padang Municipality, West Sumatra, provides free bus for tourists to tour the tourism sites in an effort to strengthen its promotion.

"The bus only operates on Saturday, Sunday and on the day of public holidays. It is free for all citizens and tourists, this month it will be launched," Head of Tourism and Culture of Padang Medi Iswandi stated in Padang on Monday.

He mentioned the bus has one unit that has a rotating schedule on a particular route.

In this case the tour bus will be operational since 09.06 a.m. to 06.08 p.m.. It passes through nine departure locations five times every day.

For each round, he pointed out, nine locations ranging from Lapau Panjang Cimpago Padang Beach to the quake monument in front of Adityawarman Museum to Klenteng, then Simpang Nipah and Gunung Padang.

Then, it goes to Aia Manih Beach via Gado-Gado Hill and through the same route back to Gunung Padang via Siti Nurbaya Bridge.

Then continue to Padang Beach through Pujasera and up to West Sumatra Grand Mosque and then return to Lapau Panjang Cimpago Pantai and go to the next round.

"On average, one round takes one hour and a half," he said. (cha)
