Padang Pariaman To Utilize Provincial Sport Week to Promote Tourism

Parit Malintang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Local Government of Padang Pariaman District, West Sumatra will utilize the Provincial Sport Week (Porprov) XV event in that area to promote tourism.

"We have a lot of spectacular tourist attractions to promote," Head of Tourism, Youth and Sports Office of Padang Pariaman, Jon Kenedi stated in Parit Malintang, Wednesday.

He explained the utilization is done by putting the location of venue or the location of sport match in a strategic place to the tourist attraction.

"If the location of venue can not be in the right of tourist attraction, then we try to do not put it far from tourist attraction," he said.

He remarked that the location of venue is not right in the tourist attraction because they are dominated by special interest tourism so that the location is not in the center of crowd.

Although the oyster object can be utilized for the rowing branches by utilizing Batang Tapakih River, but the river must be dredged first due to the sedimentation.

As a result, the rowing place is potentially moved to Batang Anai River near Anai Estuary as an alternative location of the operation.
