Financial Services To Provide Costumer Complaints: OJK

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) calls on financial service providers to provide unfair service and solve customer problems to maintain public confidence in financial industry. "Financial service actors must establish a function or complaint service unit in every office and have a complaint reporting mechanism," Task Director of Research, Policy Research and Consumer Protection of OJK, Rela Ginting stated in Padang on Thursday. He conveyed it to the socialization of financial literacy to financial services business actors in West Sumatra with the theme "Socialization Supports Growth Through Increased Literacy and Financial Inclusion as well as Consumer Complaint Service". According to him, the duties and functions of complaint services, among others, receive, serve and handle complaints, set performance targets, monitoring and evaluation, recommending improvements as well as preparing reports on complaints services. "The Board of Directors and the board of commissioners of financial services businesses should ensure that complaints services are available," he said. He said the financial services that are in focus include commercial banks, rural banks, securities brokers, investment managers, insurance companies, finance institutions, mortgage companies, guarantee companies and money based information technology loan providers. "Complaint service is also a form of protection to consumers with the principle of transparent, fair, reliable, kept confidential and handling complaints quickly, simple with affordable costs," he added.
