OJK Targets 75 Percent of Financial Access

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) targets 75 percent of adult population to have the access to formal financial institutions by 2019. "It is important to realize that access to finance has not reached all levels of Indonesian society for that government continues to make efforts to all parties to access," Chief Executive of West Sumatra OJK, Darwisman stated in Padang on Thursday. He conveyed it to the socialization of financial literacy to financial services business actors in West Sumatra with the theme "Socialization Supports Growth Through Increased Literacy and Financial Inclusion as well as Consumer Complaint Service". According to a national survey of literacy and financial inclusion in 2016, the new financial literacy rate was 29.66 percent and the inclusion or use of financial products and services amounted to 67.82 percent. He said that in order to support the target of financial inclusion, OJK launched National Strategic Literacy Strategy of Indonesia's Revisit. "It aims to accommodate changes, the development of literacy conditions and financial inclusion," he pointed out. In addition, OJK also cooperate with financial service business actors by issuing regulations that become the legal basis in implementation of literacy and financial inclusion. (cha)
