He explained if the farmers start to plant corn while palm oil is in three to five years old, it means that farmers can get extra income. According to him, West Pasaman is the largest area that produce corn in West Sumatra, with the goal of corn plant reaches 46,256 hectares. "The planning to harvest corn at this time reached 46,149 hectares with the average harvest of each year is 43,000 to 45,000 hectares," he added. He explained compared to the previous year, the area of plant integrity continues to increase where the integrity of palm oil-corn covering an area of 13,157 hectares with production of 157,884 tons per year.
