Bukittinggi, (Antaranews Sumbar) - A total of 465 kiosks for traders affected by the Ateh Market shops fire, Bukittinggi Municipality, West Sumatra, have been completed.

"The need for 763 kiosks and it just finished 465 kiosks while the remaining 298 units will be continued and it is targeted to be completed by March 2018," Bukittinggi Mayor M Ramlan Nurmatias stated in Bukittinggi on Wednesday.

The local government still needs funding for the construction of the remaining kiosk needs. If they do not get corporate social responsibility funds (CSR) that operate in the area, according to him, it will use the funds from Regional Budget (APBD).

"Thus, in the end of January 2018, the construction of 298 shelter kiosks will be tendered and at least March 2018 can be occupied," he said.

To fill the shelter kiosk, he said that the municipal government will serve merchants who have a yellow card only as a trader sign concerned before trading at Ateh Market shops.

"Please bring yellow cards of the traders to the Department of Cooperatives, SMEs, and Trade to register themselves, which served only the cardholder," he said.

For merchant placement, he said, placements will be grouped according to the type of merchandise sold, such as clothing merchants, embroidery, and souvenirs.

After the Ateh Market shops burned on October 30, 2017, the building was declared no longer worthy of use so it must be built new.

Nevertheless, some traders still seem to use the outer part of the building as a place to trade while waiting for the shelter is complete. (cha)
