Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of West Sumatra recorded the province's exports in December 2017 reached 132.66 million US dollars (US) or down 19.88 percent compared to November 2017 amounted to 165.58 million US dollars.

"The most exported goods in December 2017 are animal fat and oil worth 100.75 million US dollars, rubber and rubber goods of 20.79 million US dollars, salt, sulfur and lime 3.45 million US dollars," Head of West Sumatra BPS, Sukardi stated in Padang, Monday.

According to him, decline in non-oil exports in December 2017 compared to November occurred in some destination countries, namely India fell 10.66 percent and the United States 10.38 percent.

The largest non-oil export destination in December 2017 was India 53.82 million dollars, the United States 20.79 million dollars, Spain 19.28 million dollars, he pointed out.

He said exports to the United States contributed 22.52 percent to total exports of West Sumatra and Singapore 10.72 percent.

On the other hand, export of industrial products in December 2017 decreased by 20.98 percent compared to November, he added.

He added that the contribution of the manufacturing sector to total exports in West Sumatra in January to December 2017 was 97.16 percent.

While the value of West Sumatera imports in December 2017 reached 44.65 million US dollars or decreased by 2.95 percent compared to November 2017 which reached 46 million US dollars.

He delivered the largest import declaration in December 2017 is mineral fuel of 38.56 million US dollars, waste of food industry 3.29 million US dollars, machinery and mechanical equipment 0.82 million US dollars, salt, sulfur and lime 0.66 million US dollars. (cha)
