Medan, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Binjai Prosecution Office said two leaders of public hospital (RSUD) of Binjai, North Sumatra, have disappeared after being charged with corruption.

The two including director of RSUD Djoelham hospital identified as MS and another executive of the hospital identified as CPT have not appeared at the hospital for several days.

MS and CPT, therefore, had been declared as law fugitives, head of the Information Section of the North Sumatra High Prosecution Office Sumanggar Siagian said here on Monday.

MS and CPT were charged with involvement in the embezzlement of Rp3.5 billion of Rp14 billion of fund for the procurement of medical instrument and equipment in 2012.

Sumanggar Siagian said the prosecution office had no information about the whereabouts of the two fugitives.

He said there are seven suspects in the case but MS and CPT had not been put in detention cells. The other five were already in the Binjai jail house.

The five other suspects included local officials identified as SYA, SHD and BA, and businessmen TD, and FNC.

The corruption was unearthed after an auditing by the North Sumatra office of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), which found big markup in the prices of the procurement.

The seven men were named suspects after investigations by the Binjai prosecution office in November, 2017. (*)
