Bukittinggi, (Antara Sumbar) - Resort Police of Bukittinggi Municipality, West Sumatra implements a car free night traffic arrangement ahead of the turn of the year.

Kaur Bin Ops of Bukittinggi Resort Traffic Unit, Iptu Dedi Kurnia in Bukittinggi, Friday, explained the rules were applied as traffic engineering to anticipate the density of vehicles going on in the city when the turn of the year.

Furthermore, vehicles from the direction of Sianok Gorge diverted to the front of Achmad Muchtar Hospital to the Tembok, and vehicles from the direction Payakumbuh directed to By Pass Simpang Mandiangin.

"With the traffic arrangement, we are essentially appealing to the owners of vehicles who want to celebrate the turn of the year so as not to bring the vehicle to Jam Gadang because the location was sterilized," he said.

Earlier Mayor of Bukittinggi, M Ramlan Nurmatias said the area did not hold a special event for tourists celebrating the turn of the year in the area.

It is estimated that Jam Gadang object is still a community destination gathered to welcome the New Year of 2018.
