Painan, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of South Pesisir District, West Sumatra involves tourism activists in developing and promoting tourist attraction, in order to attract tourists to visit the area.
Wendra Rofikto, Head of Local Tourism, Youth and Sports Agency in Painan, said the involvement of tourism activists proved to be able to encourage tourism development in South Pesisir.
Tourism activists in the area have been given coaching and training so as to promote the area to visitors.
"Development and training provided such as the use of information technology, for example by becoming a blogger, promoting tourism through social media such as instagram, twitter and others," he said.
He hopes that with the development of tourism in South Pesisir, it can encourage the economic growth of people, especially around the location of tourist attractions. (cha)
