Parit Malintang, (Antara Sumbar) - The government of Padangpariaman District, West Sumatra carried out three types of vaccination against animals during 2017 in order to suppress outbreaks of contagious diseases from animals in the area.

"Implementation of the vaccination aims to make deadly diseases of animals do not attack humans and other animals," Head of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Office of Padangpariaman, Bustanil Arifin stated in Parit Malintang, Tuesday.

He mentioned three types of vaccinations that are done namely bird flu, rabies and jembrana.

At least in 2017, it has vaccinated five thousand birds with a budget of Rp40 million to suppress the spread of bird flu cases in the area.

As for rabies, he added, it has vaccinated 3,200 dogs and wild dogs with a budget of Rp30 million.

Then for the case of Jembrana, it vaccinated 3,500 cattles so that the disease does not attack other cows.

But for vaccination of jembrana, it does not use the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget because of budget constraints. "Jembrana vaccine comes from the province," he said.

He urged citizens to immediately report to service when they see the pet is sick so that his side can anticipate the circulation of contagious diseases from animals in the area.

He mentioned to check the health of animals, it already has officers in 17 districts in the area.

"The examination was free if the residents gathered at a place to check the health of his pet," he added. (cha)
