Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - The realization of motor vehicle tax revenues on revenue service in West Sumatra amounted to Rp614.2 billion, exceeding the target of Rp556.3 billion in 2017.

"The amount of West Sumatra vehicle tax revenue until November has exceeded the target per year and is expected to increase until the end of December," Head of UPT Provincial Service of West Sumatra Isman stated in Padang, Friday.

The tax revenues are sourced from Motor Vehicle Name Fee (BBNKB) and Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) on new vehicles, traces, vehicle plates outside West Sumatra and heavy equipment.

Of the total tax revenues, each for new vehicles worth Rp407.4 billion with PKB Rp54.2 billion and BBNKB Rp353.2 billion.

For used vehicles worth Rp196.7 billion, with PKB Rp194 billion and BBNKB Rp2.6 billion. While the vehicle plate outside West Sumatra worth Rp9.9 billion with details of each PKB Rp7.8 billion and BBNKB Rp2.1 billion.

Then taxes from heavy equipment valued at Rp129 million only for PKB income. So the total PKB for the vehicle is worth Rp266.3 billion and BBNKB Rp357.9 billion.

He said that by the end of the year this tax revenue could rise to Rp665 billion, the realization of vehicle tax revenue is up three percent from previous year.

"Increased tax revenue is due to the increase in the number of vehicles in the region of West Sumatra," he said.

According to him, the rising economic growth of community is driven by the high value of export and palm commodities, so adding the vehicle becomes one of people's choices in fulfilling their secondary needs.

In addition, it also maximizes the performance of several facilities available in facilitating the payment of taxes such as, mobile samsat, samsat outlets in shopping centers, tax office, and payment through Automated Teller Machine. (cha)
