Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - Financial Services Authority (OJK) of West Sumatra holds financial education for disabilities as an effort to increase literacy and financial inclusion.

"All citizens have equal rights including access to finance, including persons with disabilities, so it is necessary to provide knowledge about financial services industry," Task Manager of West Sumatra OJK Darwisman stated in Padang on Wednesday.

He delivered it in front of 124 persons with disabilities in West Sumatra compiled in the Union of Persons with Disabilities of West Sumatra.

According to him, so far people with disabilities have not gained good financial access as they are normal.

"Moreover, based on data, many people with disabilities who have their own business is quite good starting from craft and others, but can not access financial institutions," he explained.

He hopes that financial education for disabilities can improve knowledge and understanding of financial services industry.

In the education are given material about financial planning, introduction of OJK and Investment Alert, the introduction of People's Business Credit and gold savings.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Disability Women's Association of West Sumatra appreciate the activities organized by OJK because they have always been familiar with the financial services industry.

"So far there is discrimination from financial industry to peoplewith disabilities, especially the blind can not access the ATM," Chairman of the Indonesian Disability Women Association of West Sumatra, Silma Dari added. (cha)
