Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - Hundreds of passengers on urban transport in Padang, West Sumatra are displaced because the public transport crews are on strike to protest the existence of transportation by the online system.

Dozens of students of SMP Negeri 20 Padang look crowded standing on the edge of the Sutan Syahrir road while waiting for city transport that never passes, until finally many of them choose to walk to school with two kilometers distance.

"I have an hour in waiting for urban transport but no one passes, finally I take a walk," one student of SMP, Resa stated.

Not only the students. other communities who want to travel were hampered because there is no public transportation that operates.

"I am from the bank and want to have a meeting at my office. I have been waiting for half an hour, but no public transport is passing," one resident, Hasan stated.

Along Sutan Syahrir road this morning it seen dozens of people still standing waiting for public transport.

To anticipate the accumulation of passengers, the minibus car of Polsekta of South Padang is seen passing to transport residents who want to go to certain place.

Previously the City Transportation Business Alliance (APAK) of Padang had sent a notice of the planned demonstration to Polresta of Padang which was held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10.00 a.m. which will be held at the Governor's Office of West Sumatra. (cha)
