Agam Prepares Tourism Objects to Deal with Christmas, New Year Holiday

Lubukbasung, (Antara Sumbar) - Department of Tourism and Youth Sports (Disparpora) of Agam District, West Sumatra held a meeting with the manager of the area's tourist attraction to discuss the preparation of locations that will be visited by domestic tourists during Christmas and year-end holidays.

"The meeting was held with the manager of Muko-muko Tourism Object of Tanjungraya Sub-district, Ambun Tanai Matur Sub-district and Bandar Mutiara Sub-district of Tanjungmutiara," Head of Disparpora of Agam, Jetson stated in Lubukbasung on Sunday.

In the meeting, it asked the managers to prepare their areas ahead of Christmas and year-end holidays.

In addition, ask the manager to serve visitors according to the concept of tourism ie smile and greetings.

"We also ask the managers of tourist attractions so they serve the visitors well," he said.

In the near future, Disparpora of Agam will visit other tourist attraction to convey the message to tourism object manager.

In Agam, there are 65 tourism objects consisting of nature tourism, special interest and religion.

Of the tourist attraction, four tourist objects managed by the government, three attractions are managed by private parties and the rest is managed by nagari government.

"Real local revenue (PAD) from government-owned tourist retribution is Rp163 million from the target of Rp205 million in 2017," he said.

In 2017, it targets the number of visits as many as 500 thousand people and it had been realized at number of 350 thousand people.

He is optimistic that the target of visit will be achieved later, because at Christmas holidays and the end of the year the number of visits to the attraction will increased.

"We are optimistic that the number of visits is achieved, even exceeding the target later," he added. (cha)
