Bukittinggi, (Antara Sumbar) - The Mayor of Bukittinggi Municipality, West Sumatra, M Ramlan Nurmatias said the Ateh Market's burning market on October 30, 2017 will be rebuilt because based on the market building feasibility test results shows it does not feasible to use anymore.

"We have received the feasibility test results from the Ministry of PUPR and West Sumatra PUPR Service, therefore Ateh Market shops must be rebuilt in order to be re-utilized," he said in Bukittinggi, Tuesday

He explained that the PUPR Ministry has urged local government to hasten the completion of all preparations for the rebuilding of Ateh Market shops.

Planned within the next one week, the local PUPR Service is expected to complete the terms of reference (KAK).

Then still in this year, it carried out the tender of construction management (MK) and contract in the next month.

It is also hoped that other preparations such as environmental impact analysis (EIA) and physical planning projects (DED) will be completed within the next six months.

"In the seventh month, we start with funding from central andprovincial government, hopefully the plan will run smoothly," he said.

Relief funds amounting to Rp80 billion from the Ministry of PUPR, Rp14 billion from West Sumatra Provincial Government, and added funds from the budget of Bukittinggi Government.

While the total fund needed for the new construction is estimated at Rp348 billion, it is still a rough calculation, as the cost requirement is ensured by consultants according to DED.

"Now we have to get help from Ministry of Trade and make sure that Ateh Market is built by using government funding. Then from investors, traders will have difficulty with expensive kiosk rentals," he said.

He expects the plan to run smoothly and local traders are asked to do not be provoked by several information about Ateh Market shops. (cha)
