Lubukbasung, (Antara Sumbar) - A total of 106 out of 216 units of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) bases in Agam District, West Sumatra do not have permission from local government.

Secretary of Agam Cooperative Office of UMKM Industry and Trade, Adrinal accompanied by Head of Trade, Nelfia Fauzana in Lubukbasung on Sunday, said the 106 units of LPG bases are spreading across 16 sub-districts in the area.

"The new base has permission from the sub-district and has not been issued by local government," he said.

The owner of the base is urged to arrange a letter of permission immediately to the Investment Department, PTSP and Agam Employment, after obtaining a recommendation from Department of Cooperatives of SMEs, Industry and Commerce.

The limit of the permit is the end of December 2017. If it does not have a license, the base shall not operate.

"The agency will not supply LPG to the base in 2018. It is our commitment to the agency and the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH MIGAS)," he said.

He added that currently there are 216 units of LPG in Agam to sell three kilograms, 5.5 kilograms and 12 kilograms of LPG.

Of the 216 units of the base, he said, only 110 bases are licensed.

"We get the data from BPH MIGAS in early 2017," he added. (cha)
