Painan, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of South Pesisir District, West Sumatra, immediately installed a repeater or tsunami early warning signal amplifier in the local area after it was found missing on March 27.

"The case of the disappearance of repeater has entered the criminal domain and has also been tried, for the benefit of many repeaters we will installed in early of December 2017," Head of Prevention and Preparedness of South Pesisir Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) S. Marpaung stated in Painan on Tuesday.

Installation of new repeater can be done because previously used as evidence in the case.

In addition, it is also still waiting for the construction of the tower where the repeater is installed.

Once the repeater is active it will reach tsunami early warning devices in some areas, such as Koto XI Tarusan, Bayang, and Batang Kapas.

"Since the repeater was stolen all the tsunami early warning tools can not turn on automatically, even if you want to turn on it must be done manually," he said.

Marpaung added that in addition to Koto XI Tarusan, Bayang, and Batang Kapas, tsunami early warning tools are also available in Sutera, Lengayang, Ranah Pesisir, and Linggo Sari Baganti.

But in the sub-district, it can not be turned on automatically since it is installed because the existing repeater can not reach the area. (cha)
