Pariaman, (Antara Sumbar) - Pariaman Municipality, West Sumatra, will promote and serve a variety of traditional culinary specialties of the region while the international cycling race of Tour de Singkarak (TdS) took place on November 23, 2017.

"Various traditional culinary promoted such as sala lauak, tunjang curry, ladu and others so forth to be more known to the public and the international level," Head of Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar) Office of Pariaman, Elvis Chandra stated in Pariaman, Tuesday.

In addition to the introducing a variety of traditional culinary, the local government also displays potential of other regional tourism such as natural attractions and local culture.

Nature tourism that will be introduced include Gandoriah Beach, Kata Beach, Sunur Beach located in Central and South Pariaman Sub-districts.

Then the appearance of cultural attractions such as the Tassa gandang and the native dances of the region are also presented to the travelers who visit the area when the international cycling event takes place.

In general, the riders from various countries who compete in the international cycling event will be around Pariaman Municipality approximately 38 kilometers.

"The riders will cross the points of Pariaman superior tourist attractions such as beaches and villages that are still beautiful with the environment," he continued.

Related to the budget, he said, local governments poured costs up to Rp600 million in international cycling activities.

These costs are expected to have a significant impact on the economy and tourism sector. Until now the readiness of the city in the success of the event has reached 80 percent.

It estimates TdS activities can spur the level of regional tourism visits with the arrival of foreign and local travelers that reach 6,000 inhabitants.

Deputy Mayor of Pariaman, Genius Umar said some things that need to be prepared carefully before the activities are the routes or paths that will be passed by the riders from various countries.

Then the path traversed by the cyclists must be clean and safe from things that can interfere such as road holes, tree branches, livestock belonging to the community including crazy people hanging around.

Preparation technically, must be completed by relevant agencies before the activity begins to organize as the starting place of the race will have no significant problems. (cha)
