Bukittinggi, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of Bukittinggi, West Sumatra together with the Local Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), agreed to the shelter market location for traders affected by the Ateh Market fire.

The local mayor, M Ramlan Nurmatias in Bukittinggi, on Thursday, mentioned the location chosen as the shelters are four-wheeled parking area beside former Gloria Cinema, Pasar Putiah, Pasar Wisata and Pasar Belakang area.

Initially for the shelter, there are three locations that are considered which consist of the proposed of local government in Perintis Kemerdekaan Street, then the proposed of traders in Minangkabau Street and Ahmad Yani Street or remain in the Ateh Market surroundings.

However, the traders object to the proposed because it does not strategic while the merchant's proposal after consideration can hamper access to the attractions of Kinantan Wildlife Park and Culture (TMSBK) and truck access when it will be repaired or rebuilt.

"Currently, the team from the Ministry of Public Works has started to conduct the feasibility test of Ateh Market building, after which it can be determined whether the renovation or build the new one," he said.

Regional Secretary of Bukittinggi Government, Yuen Karnova added the deal was taken as the traders' expectations by do not disturb the beauty of the city.

Gloria's Cinema, Pasar Putiah and Pasar Wisata area will be the location for the 763 merchant stalls while the Pasar Belakang for 400 street vendors who usually sell in Ateh Market shops side.

With the use of four-wheeled parking area for shelter kiosks, then parking is shifted to Minangkabau Street.

"Only four-wheeled vehicles can be parked using one side of Minangkabau Street," he said.

It is planned to build a shelter kiosk on Monday (Nov 13).

In the meeting, representatives of the negotiating team of traders Yulius Rustam said the deal would be passed back to the traders.

He expects that access to the Market is also immediately opened to facilitate traders and people who will shop later. (cha)
