Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - The government of Padang Municipality, West Sumatra will collaborate the event of Tour de Singkarak (TdS) and the National Qasidah Art Festival this month.
"The collaboration is deeper and involves both groups of participants to enliven each other," Head of Tourism and Culture of Padang, Medi Iswandi stated in Padang, Monday.
Padang becomes the first stage finish of TdS from Tanah Datar to Padang with Adinegoro-M Hamka-S Parman-Veteran-Damar-Pemuda-Hang Tuah-Samudera-Pantai Cimpago route on November 18, 2017.
At that time, the contingent of qasidah art contest participants will come to Padang for thousands to follow the opening of the event.
Two of these great activities are done in one time into tourism income opportunities because there will be thousands of tourists.
"Contingents of Qasidah contest have opportunity to watch TdS while TdS participants can enjoy the music of Islam," he added.
It is also a step of Padang in promoting tourism to the world and national level.
Basically TdS activities have become a regular agenda, but still be the focus on tourism in Padang.
"We expect similar activities to increase the number of tourists to Padang and strengthen the economy of community from tourism sector," he added. (cha)
