Padang Panjang, (Antara Sumbar) - The Ministry of Tourism establishes Padang Panjang Municipality, West Sumatra to be the stage seven at the International Tour de Singkarak (TdS) event this year which originally got the location of the stage five for finishing.
"The certainty is already set by the Ministry of Home Affairs in Jakarta on October 8, 2017," Secretary of Tourism Office of Padang Panjang Dalius stated in Padang Panjang, Thursday.
He said the change of schedule for Padang Panjang is not known for sure, although the city is still ready to be the location of the finish.
By moving us to stage seven, it will not change the path for TdS this year, Dalius pointed out.
Dalius explained to stage seven with the start location in Limapuluh Kota District will coincide on Friday, November 24, 2017 which at that time is also a market day for local community.
He hopes that the Limapuluh Kota will start its star after the Jumat prayer, because if it starts in the morning, the participants will automatically enter Padang Panjang before Jumat prayer, and it will greatly disturb the people to perform their prayers, he explained.
We will discuss it again to Limapuluh Kota to change the start schedule after the Jumat prayers, so that the people who will perform the prayers in Padang Panjang will not be disturbed, he said.
Dalius explained that the Tourism Office of Padang Panjang has prepared various activities for the international event. One of them is Drum Band performance from schools in the area.
We have prepared five schools for the performance of Drum Band, namely SMKN 1, SMAN 1, SMPN, SMPN 5 and SMAN 2 Padang Panjang," he added. (cha)
