TdS Gives Great Impact on Economics: PHRI

Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - The Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of West Sumatra, Maulana Yusran said that the event of Tour de Singkarak (TdS) will have a major impact on the economy, especially in tourism.

"The activity from the beginning aims to build the name of West Sumatra as one of tourist destinations that are introduced to the international world," he said in Padang, Tuesday.

He said since the implementation of TdS in 2009 until now, it has many investors who invest funds in West Sumatra, so that economic growth in this area to be better.

"We see the increasing number of hotels and the rapid visits to West Sumatra," he said.

He said at this time the number of hotels that joined with PHRI as much as 58 consisting of various levels.

"Large hotels generally already join us and currently many small hotels are still not joined," he said.

Related to the readiness of the hotel in welcoming implementation of TDS, he acknowledged the entire hotel has been preparing to be a good host in the international event performances.

"There will be many guests who come later so that we will prepare everything well, we must be ready in providing services," he said.

He mentioned at this time the number of rooms available about 4,500 rooms located in several cities and districts in West Sumatra.

"We are ready to provide accommodation services for guests who follow the activity," he said. (cha)
