OJK Involved Community To Invest in Capital Market

Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) invites people to invest in capital markets to take advantage of the opportunities offered by Capital Market industry.

"People can invest funds and take advantage of the stock market through stock instruments, retail bonds, mutual funds and other securities instruments," Head of West Sumatra OJK Office, Darwisman stated in Padang, on Friday.

He delivered that at the opening of an investment festival titled Indonesia Investment Festival 2017 on October 27 to 29, 2017 held by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) Padang.

According to him, people who are financially superior in the world are the shareholders of listed companies in the stock exchange.

"For example Warren Buffet with Berkshire Hathawa, Bill Gates with Microsoft, Mark Zuckenberg with Facebook and Jack Ma with Alibaba," he said.

In Indonesia, he added, several successful entrepreneurs have benefited from the placement of their investments in listed companies.

He said that ownership of shares listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange creates a financial gain for the shareholders concerned.

Darwisman gave the example of Bank Mandiri shares in 2014 traded in the range of Rp3,300 per sheet, if when it was purchased 10 thousand pieces with capital Rp33 million, then the stock is now at the level of Rp7,000 per sheet.

"It means that the value of shares purchased in 2014 has reached Rp70 million with a profit of Rp37 million, or our investment has increased 112 percent in three years," he said.

He explained that the capital market can be one of the best alternative in economic development in Indonesia because its growing existence and the company's need for capital can be realized through the capital market.

While the Head of BEI Padang Reza Sadat Syahmeini said it continues to actively socialize and educate the public related to investment in the capital market.

The socialization was conducted through an exhibition, talk show by presenting investors who told the success in the capital market, he said. (cha)
