Parit Malintang, (Antara Sumbar) - The Vice Governor of West Sumatra, Nasrul Abit denied the existence of ulayat land still hampers the entry of investors to the province.

"Many investors want to invest in West Sumatra," he said in Padangpariaman on Monday.

But he continued, when investors know the location to be developed is ulayat land, then the investment also failed.

The failure of the investments occurred because investors assume that if it is ulayat land, it will be difficult to build.

"Though the perception is not entirely true," he added.

Currently, the investment in West Sumatra is supported by community such as the construction toll road from Padang to Sicincin, Padangpariaman with a length of 29.7 kilometers, mostly lands are ulayat land.

It is also grateful to the community and Government of Padangpariaman District so that the development goes without a problem.

"We have sent a letter to central government against the public demand," he said.

He also stated that the government will not harm people whose land is passed by the toll lane because of it. (cha)
