Four Investment Opportunities in Padangpariaman: Regent

Parit Malintang, (Antara Sumbar) - The Regent of Padangpariaman District, West Sumatra Ali Mukhni proposed four potential investment opportunities to be developed and offered to investors interested in the area.

"The four investment opportunities are energy, tourism, industry and the Tarok Integrated Education Zone," he said in Parit Malintang, Wednesday.

He explained that in the energy sector, there are opportunities for power plant construction, whether using hydropower, micro hydro, bio mass, or solar power.

Even a lot of river flow has the potential to be used as a power plant as be done in Singkarak hydropower in Asam Pulau Lubuk Alung Sub-district, he said.

As for tourism, he noted the area has 70 tourist destinations consisting of culinary, religious, nautical, and exploration.

"For example Lubuk Nyarai already known to tourists both local and international," he said.

He said in the industrial sector was developing because Ministry of Industry is planning to develop Malibou Anai in 2x11 Kayu Tanam Sub-district as a small medium industrial area.

"As well as making Kasang, Batang Anai area as an industrial area," he pointed out.

While the last investment potential is the development of Integrated Education Area of Tarok which located in 2x11 Kayu Tanam.

He explained the area of 697 hectares are state land which will consist of five colleges, one hospital, education and training buildings later.

"We are ready to help investors from land acquisition to the licensing through service programs," he said.

Head of the Regional Integrated Service and Industry Service Office, Hendra Aswara, said that the investment value in the first semester of 2017 reached Rp24 billion, mostly for the housing, tourism and other infrastructure sectors.

"The number is increasing sharply from 2016 which was below Rp10 billion," he said.

According to him, it shows that investors began to look at Padangpariaman as a place to invest because it is supported by the presence of Minangkabau International Airport in the area. (cha)
