Pariaman, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of Pariaman Municipality, West Sumatra, held a Pariaman Job Fair which provides 500 job vacancies for job seekers in the area.

"The 500 job vacancies consist of 22 companies from Padang, Padangpariaman District, and Pariaman," Head of Employment at the One Stop Office of Pariaman Anilta stated in Pariaman on Thursday (Sept 28).

She said the Pariaman Job Fair activities held by government on September 28 to 29, 2017 which provides jobs in various fields.

"Pariaman Job Fair 2017 provides vacancies in several fields such as health, trade, banking, industry, services and tutoring in three regions," she said.

She explained the purpose of holding Pariaman Job Fair is to suppress unemployment in the area that reached 2,554 people in 2017.

This amount is equivalent to 6.6 percent of total workforce that reached 38,667 inhabitants in the city.

When compared to 2016, he said, the unemployment rate in the area decreased 2,068 people.

"The decline in the unemployment rate is not very significant but local governments are continuing to open jobs for community," she said.

Meanwhile, Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Pariaman, Indra Sakti said local government continues to push the unemployment rate.

"Pariaman Job Fair is an opportunity for job seekers with various fields offered by the company," he said.

In addition to provide opportunities for job seekers, the local government has also held various training and skills for people in the area.

Provision of skills such as improving the quality and quality of perpetrators of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Then he said, local government also provide training in the field of workshops, sewing courses, and electronics.

"All training and coaching are needed so that people and business actors in Pariaman have competitiveness in working," he said.

Previously in January 2017, local government sent 70 embroidered and craftsmen to get training by Balai Diklat Padang, he added. (cha)
