Tourist Arrivals to Angso Duo Has Decreased Drastically

Pariaman, (Antara Sumbar) - The number of tourist arrivals to the island of Angso Duo, Pariaman Municipality, West Sumatra, has decreased drastically due to the bad weather that occurred in last few days.

Head of Section of Licensing Department of local Culture and Tourism, Fatma in Pariaman, Wednesday (Sept 20) said since the last 15 days, the number of tourist arrivals only ranged from 90 to 100 visitors departing from two points of Muaro Pariaman and Gandoriah Beach to Angso Duo Island.

In fact, on Saturday and Sunday the number of visitors is only about 30 tourists coming from Pariaman and other areas.

While on a sunny day, the number of tourists can reach 400 people who come from different regions, on weekends.

Moreover, since now, Regional Disaster Monitoring Agency (BPBD) of Pariaman has been raising red flags of the community to sign all fishermen and ship perpetrators.

On the other hand, with regard to the costs charged to Angso Duo Island tourist, local government collects Rp40 thousand per individual.

Separate from it, Head of Emergency and Logistics of BPBD, Cardinal said that the red flags has raised around the beach to hold and encourage the fishermen to do not go to sea until the weather is back to normal.

"The intensity of the rain is still moderate, but if the situation does not change for three hours ahead then flooded at some point," he added. (cha)
