Gorontalo, (Antara Sumbar) - The Ainum Habibie Hospital in Gorontalo Province continues to spread awareness about free cataract operation services among the people in villages and coastal areas.
Hospital Director Dr Rosina Kiu remarked here on Monday (Sept 18) that Gorontalo Governor Rusli Habibie continues to encourage the people suffering from visual impairments in every village and coastal area to undergo screening, or early identification process for cataract.
"If the screening results indicated that the people have cataracts, then they can undergo a free cataract operation at the Ainum Habibie Hospital," Kiu said.
According to Kiu, free cataract operations are available for all patients in Gorontalo who hold the Social Security Provider Health Card.
Based on its work program for 2018, the Ainum Habibie Hospital will provide free cataract operation services once a month and conduct screening on weekdays.
"In addition, we have urged those who have undergone a cataract operation to help inform the other patients about the free cataract operation services at this hospital," she stated. (*)
