Gorontalo, (Antara Sumbar) - The people of Bone Bolango Town, Gorontalo, are optimistic of the Olele marine park gaining recognition abroad and becoming one of the new tourist destinations in Sulawesi, in particular, and Indonesia, in general.

"If promotion by the government is optimized, we are certain that the Olele marine park can compete with other marine tourism spots in Indonesia," Ardy, one of the citizens of Bone Bolango, stated on Monday (Sept 18).

Apart from the natural beauty offered by the park due to its varied biological diversity, it also offers a unique diving and snorkeling experience.

The Olele marine park will become the main destination for foreign tourists if managed optimally, especially by providing supporting amenities, such as roads, hotels, and culinary arts.

"If the Olele marine park gains global recognition, it will have an impact on the people's economy. Similar to small and medium enterprises in the location, it will also attract foreign investors here," he added.

Earlier, Allaon Guillard, a French tourist who had visited Olele, said the area's huge potential has yet to be optimally utilized.

"Gorontalo is the best diving spot around Sulawesi Island, especially in the Olele Marine Park," Allain, who has already undertaken several hundred diving expeditions in the area, said.

He accidentally spotted Olele, which he views as a "hidden paradise," as he had earlier merely transited in the area before continuing his journey to Togean Islands, Central Sulawesi.

The mayor of Bone Bolango stated that the government is already driving the promotion for local tourism, nationally and internationally.

The government is also making efforts to improve infrastructure around the tourism spot, including attracting various investors to continue improving and developing the region's marine and natural tourism potential.

Apart from the Olele marine park, his side is also driving promotion for other tourism destinations, such as Botutonuo Beach, Lombongo Natural Park, Pinogu Ecotourism, and various other attractions. (*)
