Pariaman, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of Pariaman, West Sumatra, immediately built Biodiversity Park in the area as one of the efforts to save local plants.
"This is also a program of Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) RI which is planned to be realized in 2018," Official of KLHK RI, Hans Nico Sinaga stated in Pariaman, Wednesday (Aug 30).
The Biodiversity Park will be built in Tungkal Utara Village, North Pariaman Sub-district, Pariaman Municipality.
With the realization of park development, he hopes to be a source of seeds, plant breeding, and facilities for science and technology development.
In addition, it is also used as a means of education, counseling, as well as being a natural tourist location and as a green open space.
"With the development of the park, it can increase biodiversity and support conservation of flora and fauna outside forest area," he said.
In managing Biodiversity Park, he expects surrounding community to be actively involved in planting and nursing.
In the planting and maintenance, he said, local communities can plant productive crops that result to increase the source of income.
Meanwhile, Pariaman Regional Secretary, Indra Sakti said that the Biodiversity Park serves as an observation center for observing flora and fauna.
In fact, he added, the existence of the park is able to provide economic value to people in the area.
He explained the development of the park is a mandate from Minister of Environment Regulation number 3 of 2012.
In addition, the book compiled by researchers Research Center and Development (R & D) Forest used as a guide for monitoring and evaluation of plant development. (cha)
