Ten Trans Padang Buses Operate on August 30

Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - Parliament Vice Chairman of Padang, West Sumatra, Wahyu Iramana Putra said based on the agreement, 10 additional of Trans Padang bus units in the area will resume their operation on August 30, 2017.

"The re-operation of 10 additional Trans Padang buses has been based on an agreement between representatives of public transportation entrepreneurs in Padang, Department of Transportation and Land Transportation Organization (Organda)," he said in a press conference at the local parliament on Wednesday (Aug 30).

Earlier, there are ten additional Trans Padang bus units were temporarily suspended from August 29 to 30, until a solution to demonstrations rejected the operation of the bus in corridor I of Raya Market - Lubuk Buaya on Monday (Aug 28) morning.

The demonstration was conducted by a number of urban crew members in front of local parliament building.

Wahyu said public transportation entrepreneurs in Padang agreed to support government program related to public transport service improvement through Trans Padang.

In addition, to add insight in the management of freight companies, Wahyu said, PT Armada Bumi Minang is willing to accept employees of PT and City Transport Cooperatives in Padang to apprentice in the PT.

Meanwhile, Head of Department of Transportation of Padang, Dedi Henidal hoped the existence of the agreement of city transportation in the area can provide comfort to community.

"There is no more irregular city transportation," he said.

Besides, related to the transport in the network (online), he said it is still following up and waiting for instructions from Ministry of Transportation.

Meanwhile, Director of PT Permata Biru Fauzen (City Transportation Entrepreneur) said by the existence of agreement between some parties, it is expected that there is no more problems related to Trans Padang. (cha)
